City of Denver Greenlights TDM Ordinance for New Development to Advance Transportation Goals
- April 23, 2021
Denver residents and employees now have more choices for how they move about the city thanks to a Transportation Demand Management (TDM) ordinance recently approved by Denver City Council. The new ordinance requires developers to implement TDM strategies that will expand travel options and create more alternatives to driving. Ideas include a subsidized transit pass for tenants or building amenities for people who walk or bike into the workplace.
UrbanTrans worked with David Evans and Associates, Inc. and Carlos Hernandez, AICP, CTP to help the City create the new ordinance. This exciting change for Denver aims to encourage more TDM beyond the City and throughout the region. It was made possible by the hard work and advocacy of many individuals within the area over several years.
