Senior Program Specialist
Jossimar is a problem solver with a strong belief in the power of innovation and creativity. Born and raised in Los Angeles, Jossimar brings a wealth of unique insight to UrbanTrans and its Los Angeles office. His skillsets offer newfound opportunities when navigating the patchwork of different cultures within our communities. Currently, Jossimar serves as project manager for the first-last mile pilot project for the City of Inglewood, aimed at providing residents employed at the Los Angeles International Airport with a safe and reliable trip to work.
Jossimar has dedicated his professional career to bringing opportunities and access to low-income communities in the Los Angeles area. Before joining UrbanTrans, he was tasked with leading job development programs in the hospitality field for the City of Santa Monica. He established local job training programs, engaged at-risk youth, found solutions to local transportation problems, and helped community groups navigate the municipal planning process.
Jossimar earned his bachelor’s degree from Syracuse University in Information Science & Technology. Later he earned a master’s degree from California State University, Northridge in Urban Planning. Jossimar enjoys connecting with people and contributing to programs that meet their needs.
When he is not working, Jossimar is closely following his favorite football (soccer) team, the Galaxy, experiencing Los Angeles on a bike or by transit, and helping people in his community improve their financial literacy.
