Transportation Planner
Julia is a planner interested in creating thriving cities through sustainable transportation systems, equitable community development, and affordable housing. Before joining UrbanTrans, she worked for the Colorado Department of Transportation, where she assisted with oversight and management of federal and state transportation funds and projects that focused on transit.
Julia served for two years as an AmeriCorps member, preserving affordable housing through home repairs for low-income homeowners. She also supported the HUD Promise Zone Initiative to expand economic opportunity in high-poverty areas of Nashville, TN.
Since joining UrbanTrans, Julia has been using her planning experience to support an emerging TMO in Southern California, assisting with the evaluation of developing TDM plans; and researching best practices on residential transit pass programs across the United States.
She is a graduate of the University of Colorado Denver with a Master’s of Urban and Regional Planning; and Eckerd College with a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies with a focus in Economics and Political Science.
Julia enjoys hiking and camping, playing tennis, and keeping her vegetable garden thriving!
