Jonny Rotheram

Active Transportation Lead

Jonny’s professional purpose is to encourage more people to bike and walk as a mode of transportation. He is passionate about the wider (and sometimes hidden) benefits active transportation can bring to people’s lives and the fabric of our communities.

Since his move from the UK, Jonny has built upon his European active transportation experience by leading multiple active transportation planning projects ranging from region-wide plans to specific downtown improvements. He is known for pushing the planning process forward, specifically in data collection and data representation to support decision making.

Jonny brings to UrbanTrans more than 10 years of experience in active transportation. He holds a master’s in Transportation Planning from the University of Leeds. Jonny also received a Bachelor of Science in Computing and Geography from the University of Manchester.

In his spare time, Jonny can be found working on his cabin in the foothills of the Rockies, playing soccer (football) or just enjoying the life of a typical Colorado resident (read hiking/camping/fishing/cycling). He recently became a U.S. citizen spurred on by the birth of his daughter.
